Calendar

The acwForum Calendar list includes a variety of acwForum events that are sponsored by or posted by acwForum Members (signatories), and may include volunteer or stewardship opportunities in the watershed, upcoming meetings, workgroup activities, field trips, seminars, etc. All events are oriented to fulfilling the overarching acwForum mission – to improve water-related beneficial issues and resources within the Alameda Creek Watershed. * SFPUC’s Alameda Creek Watershed Center in Sunol
* A public/private collaborative stream enhancement program
* Steelhead coming soon to the watershed
* Green infrastructure for stormwater management
* Climate change and land use in the watershed

PLUS: The transition from Alameda Creek Watershed Council (ACWC) to acwForum – new name, a new website, an e-newsletter, and new opportunities to interact and stay informed!

NEW THIS YEAR: Forum Highlights, a round-robin session during which brief project updates can be given by Council/acwForum members.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day – National Day of Service

Date: 2014-01-20
Location: Union City Civic Center

Volunteers needed to plant native plants along the creekside trail in the park, and clean up the creek and pond at the Union City Civic Center. All supplies will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes and clothing, bring a refillable water bottle, gloves if you have them, and a snack. Ages 10 and up. Kids under age 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Youth groups welcome. Community service hours available for students.  Volunteers must register in advance at www.handsonconservation.org . Print out a liability release form and bring it signed to the event.  See flyer for details.
