Calendar

The acwForum Calendar list includes a variety of acwForum events that are sponsored by or posted by acwForum Members (signatories), and may include volunteer or stewardship opportunities in the watershed, upcoming meetings, workgroup activities, field trips, seminars, etc. All events are oriented to fulfilling the overarching acwForum mission – to improve water-related beneficial issues and resources within the Alameda Creek Watershed. Union City Coastal Cleanup Day 2015

VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

Come and help improve the health of your local creek and protect wildlife habitat!

We will pick up trash along the creekside trail to Alameda Creek, and around the pond in the park. We will tally the types of trash that we find as part of California Coastal Cleanup Day. We will learn about the impact of trash on water quality in the creek and on the wildlife that lives there.
Wear work clothes and sturdy shoes that can get dirty (please no sandals), and bring gloves if you have them. We will provide trash bags, gloves to loan and litter grabbers. Snacks will also be provided.
Please bring your own re-fillable water bottle.
ALL VOLUNTEERS WELCOME! Kids 12 and under need to be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Youth groups welcome!

Tri-Valley Creeks to Bay Clean-up!
Saturday, September 19, 2015
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This event is part of Coastal Cleanup Day, a statewide and international effort to
clean trash and debris from beaches, bays, creeks, rivers, and lakes.
Due to limited space, please pre-register. It’s easy – just choose one of the following
cleanup sites, and contact the Site Coordinator to sign up and obtain the required
waiver form(s). Bring the signed and completed waiver form(s) with you to the event.
Cleanup Sites:
– Site One: Arroyo Las Positas at Northfront Road (near Northfront Trailhead Park)
– Site Eight: Altamont Creek and Arroyo Las Positas at Bluebell Drive (near Springtown Golf Course)
– Site Ten: Arroyo Mocho at Arroyo Road (between Arroyo Rd. and Holmes St.)
Note: Volunteers under 18 years of age must have the waiver forms signed by a parent or guardian. Volunteers under 13 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
